PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what data FartRank ("we", "us") collects, why, and your rights. FartRank is operated from Spain. By using the app at fartrank.app (and our Android app) you agree to this policy. Questions: [email protected].

1. Data we collect

• Account info: your email address (via email sign-up or Google sign-in).
• Profile: username, avatar and tier you choose.
• Fart logs: intensity, smell, duration, sound type, context, score and timestamps you record.
• Audio recordings: the short sound clips you capture when logging a fart (see §3).
• Usage data: basic in-app activity needed to run features (e.g. streaks, leaderboards).

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or device sensors beyond the microphone you explicitly use to record.

2. How we use your data

To create and secure your account, run the core features (logging, scoring, streaks, leaderboards, VS battles), store your recordings library, and provide customer support. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Audio recordings

• Recordings are captured only while you hold the record button, and are used to score your fart and build your private library.
• They are stored privately and are only accessible to you — unless you choose to share a specific fart, which makes that single clip publicly playable via its share link.
• We keep a rolling library of your most recent recordings (Free: 10, Pro: 500); older clips are deleted automatically.

4. Service providers

• Supabase — database, authentication and audio storage.
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We never see or store your card details.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• Google — optional sign-in (OAuth).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual recordings at any time, or request full account deletion by emailing [email protected] — we will erase your personal data and recordings, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access to your recordings is restricted to your account.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to processing. To exercise any right, email us. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Children

FartRank is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
